  • Four of Mary-Kate and Ashley's newest movies in one cool collection! Travel around the world with these teen superstars as they venture to London, England; Paradise Island, The Bahamas; the slopes in Utah; and Rome, Italy! Each movie is a world of adventure, romance and awesome fun. A must-have for any Mary-Kate and Ashley fan! Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: CHILDREN Rating: NR Age:&n
Studio: Warner Home Video Release Date: 09/01/2009IT TAKES TWO - DVD MovieThis first theatrical outing for the ubiquitous Olsen twins is their take on The Parent Trap meets The Prince and the Pauper. One plays a foster child under the care of a single social worker (Kirstie Alley) whose marital status prevents her from adopting her favorite charge. The other is the neglected daughter of a "bazillionaire" (Steve Guttenberg), who's about to marry a gold-digging socialite (played nastily by Jane Sibbett,! Ross's first ex-wife on TV's Friends). The foster kid comes to a charity camp abutting the rich girl's summer estate and--presto--the identical strangers meet, hatch a plan to solve both their dilemmas, and switch identities. Directed by Andy Tennant (Ever After), this PG-rated film features some decent G-rated chemistry between Alley and Guttenberg and surprisingly uncloying performances by Mary-Kate and Ashley. The rating is for mild language. (Ages 5 and up) --Kimberly HeinrichsThis first theatrical outing for the ubiquitous Olsen twins is their take on The Parent Trap meets The Prince and the Pauper. The rating is for mild language. (Ages 5 and up) --Kimberly HeinrichsTeenage sisters Charli and Lola are on the verge of an experience beyond their wildest dreams! Pack your bags and jet off to Rome as the girls start their summer internship working for the legendary Derek Hanson - the totally cool international tycoon whose empire reaches from airlines to cutting-edge fashion. Amid the fabulous sights of this exciting city, the girls do their best to impress their boss, while still finding time to design their own line of very hip clothing, meet some very cute guys and turn their summer abroad into one awesome adventure they - and you - will nev! er forget! Riding on the success of Mary-Kate and Ashley's popular formula from previous films showcasing London and Paris, this one takes them to Rome as sophisticated working girls. The Olsen twins play fictional sisters Charli and Leila, summer interns at a global fashion and entertainment company. They join four other international students ostensibly to gain business experience, though the job seems more of a cover for their perennial pursuits of shopping, sightseeing, and sizzling romance. They encounter workplace challenges, including a tyrannical boss and derisive coworker, which serve as a backdrop for numerous costume changes for our fashion-forward stars. In the end, teamwork prevails as the interns devise a clever scheme to expose a company criminal. Kudos to the film for depicting Charli and Leila's characters as strong and self-assured young women (too bad they come across excessively materialistic). Despite the seemingly endless self-promotion of Mary-Kate an! d Ashley, this G-rated film is all in good fun, though there i! s certai nly more fizz than flavor. (Ages 4 to 10) --Lynn GibsonMary-Kate and Ashley star in this Down Under adventure filled with nonstop Aussie intrigue, laughs and romance. After running afoul of a notorious gangster, Mary-Kate and Ashley take refuge in the FBI Witness Protection Program. Unfortunately, the girls are uncontrollable blabbermouths and they blow their cover in town after town until there's only one hiding place left - Australia.Well, look who grew up: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, once the sleepy-eyed preschoolers in the hit TV sitcom Full House, now wake to find themselves ready for their first day of high school. But the day doesn't shape up as ultra-fantastically as in their dreams. A series of bizarre circumstances (involving some supercharged catsup and a criminal with a "really gross zit") force them into a life-threatening situation in which only the FBI Witness Protection Program can help. It turns out that Mary-Kate and Ashley are their own worst! enemies; the girls continually blow their cover until finally they're booted down under to the warm and sparkling recreation mecca of Sydney, Australia. Here the challenge to keep a secret takes second fiddle to the bigger challenges of fitting in with the popular group, learning Aussie lingo, and (apparently) changing into a new set of adorable clothes and accessories in almost every scene. Fans from 6 to 13 years old will probably enjoy the daffy antics of the Olsens, their adventures with cute boyfriends, and their ability to thwart the goofy bad guys. Plus, their acting ability--although crippled by yet another bubblehead script--continues to improve. To the parental crowd, the film plays somewhat like a New Age beach-blanket movie with plenty of surfer parties, flower-power fun, overblown story points, mild potty humor, and lots of belly buttons (LOTS of belly buttons). The movie also has some inexplicable references (to such grown-up phenomena as The Blair Witch P! roject and The Sopranos) that are bound to go way o! ver the target audience's heads. Yet it's 90 minutes of absolutely clean fun that fans will eat up. --Liane ThomasMary-Kate and Ashley star as soccer-playing sisters who scheme to trade teams by secretly trading places. But as the plan unfolds, there's chaos on and off the field. With clever schemes, hilarious mix-ups and non-stop action all part of the game, Mary-Kate and Ashley are in for some fancy footwork in their all-new feature-length movie!Originally an ABC telefilm, Switching Goals comes to video. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen play super-identical twins who are actually total opposites. OK, it's not the freshest concept in the universe, but the teen divas (who also exec produce--as they did in their Passport to Paris) are an undeniable favorite with little girls all-over. Here, they're Sam, the athletic one, and Emma, the fashion-conscious one. Their indulgent dad (Eric Lutes) coaches a soccer team and their workaholic mother (Kathryn Greenwood) is a p! sychologist. Look for a switch, the truth to be revealed, and all to end well. This video may prove to be just the perfect gift for any young girl between 4 and 10. Not only will they get to gaze up on the familiar, comforting countenances of the Olsens, but given how many young 'uns play soccer, there's even more to relate to. --N.F. MendozaOlsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley lead the battle of wits and wills to save their beloved ranch in the feature length comedy How The West Was Fun. Trying to sell the spread out from under them is bumbling, lower-than-a-snake's-belly scoundrel Bart Gifooley (Martin Mull).Contains When in Rome, Getting There, Holiday in the Sun and Winning London.

A MASTERPIECE THEATRE PRESENTATION and AWARD WINNING DRAMA

Notorious. Scandalous. Unforgettable!

She is a lover, a criminal and a master of disguise who lives life on her own lusty terms. Acclaimed actress Alex Kingston ("Dr. Elizabeth Corday" of television's ER) stars as Daniel Defoe's notorious heroine in this scandalous romp set in the 18th Century!

Ever since her birth in Newgate Prison, Moll has survived by her cunning, wit and considerable powers of seduction. She goes through five husbands and countless lovers to escape a life on the streets. In betw! een using and deceiving her besotted paramours, she is not above picking a pocket or two! All the while, though, her heart belongs to the charismatic Jemmy (Daniel Craig). Inevitably, even the most clever criminal's luck runs out and Moll is soon facing the hangman's noose. As her execution day approaches, she devises one last desperate ploy to save not only her own neck, but also the life of her one true love.

This energetic, sardonic, and richly funny adaptation of Daniel Defoe's classic novel is completely unlike what you might expect from genteel Masterpiece Theatre. The heroine, Moll Flanders (Alex Kingston), after being born in prison, wends her way through the top and bottom of 18th-century English society, has five husbands (including a roguish highwayman who becomes the love of her life), many lovers (male and female), travels to America and back again, and in general discovers all that is cruel and sweet in life. Kingston tears into her role with ! gleeful amorality and delicious charm, often turning to the ca! mera wit h a seductive smile to ask, "What would you do?" This British miniseries is brilliantly written, skillfully directed, and superbly acted all around (with particularly delightful performances by Diana Rigg and Daniel Craig)--in short, among the best of its kind; both a cunning examination of social morés and a hugely entertaining story. Not to be missed. --Bret Fetzer

As Seen on Masterpiece Theatre

It is the first century A.D. and the Romans have invaded ancient Britain, but the Iceni, a Celtic tribe, are unwilling to live as a subject race in their own land. For a while, they are allowed to continue their lives as usual, without Rome's interference, but when Emperor Claudius dies, the Romans and the new Emperor Nero no longer tolerate the Iceni way of life and endeavor to crush the upstart Queen Boudicca (Alex Kingston - ER, Moll Flanders) and her tribe. However, they have underestimated the Celtic spirit and, seeking revenge, Boudicca l! eads her people against the mighty Romans with devastating effect.

"Brilliant Fun!" --What's On TV (U.K.)

Ex-cons Ellie, Hannah, Shoo, and Josie have done their time. Now they just want to disappear to Barbados with £3 million stolen from Ellie’s gangster husband, Roy. When a twist of fate leaves them without passports, they flee to a remote village in the Scottish Highlands and a shabby hotel that seems like the perfect hideaway. All they have to do is lie low and plan their escape. But the town of Hope Springs harbors bigger secrets and worse crimes, including unsolved murders. Soon the! ir lives are complicated by small-town nosiness, a shady solic! itor, a handsome policeman, and a hit man sent by Roy in search of his money--and the girls.

Alex Kingston (ER, Moll Flanders) leads a colorful cast that includes Annette Crosbie (Little Dorrit), Sian Reeves (Emmerdale Farm), Paul Higgins (In the Loop), Christine Bottomley (The Street), Vinette Robinson (Waterloo Road), Ronni Ancona (Gideon’s Daughter), and Alec Newman (Frank Herbert’s Dune). Set against the backdrop of gorgeous Scottish scenery, Hope Springs is escapist, entertaining fun.Hope Springs is a bit like Sex and the City--if Carrie & Co. had served time for fraud, assault, and arson! Ellie (Alex Kingston, ER), Shoo (Christine Bottomley, The Street), Hannah (Sian Reeves, Emmerdale Farm), and Josie (Vinette Robinson, Waterloo Road) are fresh out of prison, but they pull off a perfect scam on Ellie's weaselly husband--netting them a big chunk of money and put! ting him in jail. Then their plan to skip off to Barbados falls apart and they're forced to take a detour to Scotland, where they try to keep a low profile operating a run-down hotel. Unfortunately for them, they've landed in a murder mystery--and the hotel is at the heart of it. Even worse, the imprisoned husband's right-hand man is hunting them down, and he doesn't care who gets hurt (or killed) along the way.

Hope Springs balances drama and whimsical comedy with easy skill. Kingston drives the show with her mix of iron will, confident sexiness, and flashes of vulnerability, but the entire cast is solid, including Annette Crosbie (One Foot in the Grave) as the previous owner of the hotel who's not as dotty as she seems. Particularly good is Bottomley; her character Shoo is a mess--needy, reckless, prone to petty tantrums--but in Bottomley's hands she's deeply sympathetic, and exemplifies the damaged lives these women have lived. The show's overarching ! theme is how these former criminals, who've learned to look ou! t for th emselves at all costs, discover the value of community. Thanks to the fine cast and strong writing, this opening up is both comic and touching. Hope Springs is an excellent show that deserves to find a wider audience. --Bret FetzerFORTUNES AND MISFORTUNES OF MOLL FLAN - DVD MovieThis energetic, sardonic, and richly funny adaptation of Daniel Defoe's classic novel is completely unlike what you might expect from genteel Masterpiece Theatre. My Sister Bongsoon is an autobiographical novel. Through theeyes of Jiang, a precocious five-year old girl, the author relates how Bongsoon, a live-in maid who was uneducated, unloved but innocent and hard-working like most of the maids of those days, views the emerging new world of Korean reality. There is anguish, insight, but also immense painin this novel.Gong wrote: " I decided to picture Bongsoon and many other maids like her who existed in the early stages ! of economic growth and who were simply ignored amid the hctic development of that era. My Sisster Bongsoon is my personal reflection as a comfortable middle-class person on all those women who we just neglected!"This dissertation consists of four sections which address various aspects of assessing exposure to nanoparticles and monitoring methods. The first section examines the appropriateness of different exposure metrics using multiple-metric measurements that were carried out in multiple locations of workplaces generating incidental nanoparticles to construct aerosol maps. The concentration peaks of SA and fine particle number agreed more with locations of nanoparticle sources and showed larger concentration ratios between work areas than mass concentration. This indicates that SA and fine particle number concentrations are more appropriate for nanoparticle than mass. The second section examines the ability of various exposure metrics to distinguish between exposure categ! ories. Multiple-metric measurements were obtained in high and ! low expo sure zones in workplaces generating incidental nanoparticles. SA and fine particle concentrations showed higher 'contrast' in mean concentrations and larger concentration ratios between zones than mass concentrations. The results suggest that SA and fine particle number concentrations are more efficient than mass for classifying worker exposures into categories. The results suggest that the choice of appropriate exposure metrics is critical for classifying workers into similarly exposed groups. In the third section, SA concentrations were estimated in two ways based on number and/or mass concentrations using aerosol instruments and compared with SA directly measured using a diffusion charger. Estimated SA was derived from particle size distribution by number and was calculated using a simple inversion method. Both estimated SA overestimated measured SA but were correlated with measured SA. The results suggest that the estimated SA may a good predictor of measured SA. In the ! fourth section, three SA estimating methods were applied and evaluated based on number and/or mass concentrations measured by readily available instruments. Estimated SA was derived from particle size distribution by number and was calculated using two different inversion procedures. The estimated SA was compared with the reference SA obtained from the scanning mobility particle sizer and optical particle counter. All estimated SA had qualitatively similar trends to the reference. The results suggest that all estimation methods may be used as an interim solution for the purpose of classifying exposure zones within a workplace.Studio: Virgil Films And Entertai Release Date: 01/26/2010 Run time: 126 minutesFonte: Wikipedia. Combining hip, easy-to-perform, dance moves, burlesque and, of course, striptease, Carmen works you through an energetic routine that focuses on strengthening your body and building your confidence. While Volume One in Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease series featured Electra working out in front of a bed, Vegas Strip offers a more public venue, Studio 54, as her instructional setting. Since this segment is filmed at a legendary dance club, it makes sense that this workout session is constructed of choreographed dance moves, that one can either use on the dance floor or keep under wraps at home. Vegas Strip's! half-hour session will provide good cardiovascular exercise, depending on what one puts into it, though it mostly improves grace and coordination, in easy-to-learn segments set to pulsating dance music. This is equally valuable since the premise of this series is to feel sexy and have fun while working out. Though it does appear to be more of a lesson in choreography, Vegas Strip clearly demonstrates the challenge implicit to such sexed-up dance moves, and may give those who shun dirty dancing a respect for the real professionals. â€"Trinie DaltonMeet Eliana, Natasha, Vala and Yvette, the girls of ENVY. I'm Reed Fish

  • When an old high school crush returns to his small hometown, Reed Fish's once simple, calculated life begins to unravel. A drunken incident prompts Reed's fiancee (Alexis Bledel) and the entire town to turn against him. This one-of-a-kind hilariously clever comedy features an up and coming ensemble cast and an unforgettably captivating original soundtrack. Format: DVD MOVIE Genre:&nbs
Ambitious young New Yorker Beth (Alexis Bledel) wants it all: a good job, good friends and a good guy to share the city with. Of course that last one is trickiest of all, as Beth discovers when she falls hard for Tommy (Scott Porter), a handsome, young Wall Street hotshot. Just as everything seems to be falling into place, Beth meets Tommy’s shy, clumsy co-worker Daniel (Bryan Greenberg) â€" and soon learns that the game of love in the big city is a lot like Wall Street â€" high risk, high reward…and everybo! dy has an angleThe crystal-blue eyes of Alexis Bledel are the prize for which two men vie in The Good Guy. Tommy (Scott Porter from the TV series Friday Night Lights) has a great life: he's highly placed on Wall Street and has a smart and beautiful girlfriend, Beth (Bledel, Gilmore Girls). But when he tries to turn the awkward Daniel (Bryan Greenberg, The Perfect Score) into his protégé at the firm, Daniel proves to be an unexpected catalyst in Tommy's life--and Beth's. The Good Guy mixes familiar platitudes about men and women with some surprisingly fresh observations about men and women. The characters actually reveal themselves over time, turning out to be different than you might expect. It's far from perfect--the pace is a little too leisurely and some elements are a little too pat (Beth's book club is reading a novel that sounds suspiciously like the movie itself). Nonetheless, The Good Guy never turns predictable and--thoug! h the characters all live in million-dollar New York apartment! s--there are surprisingly realistic touches throughout, an attention to human details that all too often get lost in Hollywood movies. Also featuring Andrew McCarthy (Pretty in Pink) as Tommy's sleazy boss. --Bret FetzerNo Description Available.
